Elena Kropaneva

Kropavena's scanography work leans towards the idea of fantasy. A majority of her scans combine flowers with different depths of focus and a lot of light. All of these factors create an almost ethereal feel the scans. In almost all of the scans, the face is not clear, either blurred or covered by petals. 

Kropavena's style influenced my own scanography work to include flowers and create a fantasy-like feel. However I feel like Kropavena's work is far more pleasing due to the balance she has achieved in regards to the light, flowers and model. 

Elena Kropaneva scanography works feature a lot of flowers and women. Her work seems almost fantasy-like with the lightness and reduced saturation that creates an atmosphere that is almost angelic. The women seem ethereal.

The scans shown above are slightly blurry, obscuring the faces of the women slightly and the flowers are more in focus. Kropaneva seems to focus on the brightness, contrast, saturation and exposure.
