Scanography

For this photoshoot, I used the technique of scanography. By using Elena Kropaneva's scanography work as inspiration, I changed the light and airy feel of Kropaneva's work and created a darker atmosphere. Keeping the use of nature and flowers within my work, I wanted to make the images seem almost scary but beautiful at the same time. In all of the photos I have specifically chosen the eyes to draw the viewers interest. The eyes are all edited to look as though the subject is like a character in a fairytale or even slightly demonic.

This image was actually created by combining two scans together. the first was of me in this pose and then the other was a plasticised paint piece that I had made for this. I wanted it to look like blood and veins to add a gorey feel to this image. I also brightened and changed the colour of my eyes to make me seem almost demonic.
This was one of the first scans I did that incorporated these flowers. I am quite pleased with the result as it is quite simple yet effective in portaying a theme of delicacy.

With these two scans, I placed the foliage down ont the scanner and then took the scan. Once these scans were taken I then overlayed photos I had taken of some evergreen trees. This gave me quite a fairy-tale style that fitted well with that I wanted.
